I had no idea that Maurice Sendak and I shared the same birthday. This is strange because I've always admired his illustrations and when I started my own illustrations, they had a very "Wild Things" feel to it. I recently listened to an interview he did on NPR. He was so telling about his views on life and death. If you haven't checked it out... please do! Check here!
Author Neil Gaiman remarked, "He was unique, grumpy, brilliant, gay, wise, magical and made the world better by creating art in it."
