Pizza Party!

Some of these pictures make me giggle... so funny. This last one... olivia's brown cake face smile. So, yeah we had a great party at Satchel's pizza in town - had some cupcakes and sang some kids songs. It was fun, fast and easy. Olivia skipped her nap and by cake time her tired eyes became very clear. She pushed on through but no piñata hitting for her. It was fun to watch the younger kids hitting the piñata  and looking around like what's going on here. Naim ended up whacking it hard enough for the candy to burst out. Fun times... thank you friends for hanging with us on a special day. I especially thank my Mom and Ross (they brought up a dryer for us- hahah our dryer died earlier that week) also my Dad and Eileen - they got a bit off track with directions but were able to be there for the birthday song. Another shout out to Flo and Ed, they couldn't make it but Olivia loved all her gifts... big gift boxes in the mail are always fun to open. so far 2 is starting out pretty good... a lot of hum singing and shouting out 5, blue, plane at random times and running a lot more. We're ready!

So Olivia's turning two! February 16th... we are celebrating at a local pizza place in town - it's really the best pizza ever on the planet - Check it // Satchel's Pizza (even their website is awesome) One of Gainesville's treasures for sure.  I put together this guide just to keep things simple in my brain and also to give others some ideas. I'm always looking for some quality products // Like the Rody Horse - pretty amazing - it's a bouncy horse (yes, please) We got her a mini artist easel since she's all about painting these days... she's really understanding her colors quicker when we paint together. So far she seems to say booo, yehyoo, wed and reen. It's really cute. We splurged on this guy! Excited to see her face :)

End of 2012

I must say, Christmas was not the same when your own mama is not around. She had to fly to Puerto Rico to take care of her mother. Gueli (my grandmother) is doing well - she was living at home alone and became dehydrated which was pretty serious because a slew of problematic symptoms arrived afterwards. She's stable now and happy in the mountains at a nursing home. She's 92 and still strong like a bull. So yeah, I think it was my first Christmas without my mom which was kind of weird. I kept thinking she was going to come walking out of her room. I guess it's pretty much a new era for all of us in our family. We all have our little families now. It was a little bittersweet thinking we'll probably be somewhere new for the next holidays... bitter that we will miss our families in Florida - sweet that our little family will be starting a new life together // now we can have visitors rather than have to drive to 3 different houses (its kind of exhausting).

I'm happy I kept up with this blog even though I really would like to expand with it and write more. I use this blog to help with writing (dyslexia), record the major and minor things in our lives, watch our little one grow and also to communicate to people (hopeful start conversations) - I'd like to post more on my painting as well as some collaborative works with friends and my little Olivia. So, hopefully I can get it together :) (also interviewing people)

So, with that in mind - Future posts // Furry Fangs an Introduction // A very special Pizza Party for a two year old - as well as our first painting collaboration Mother and Daughter // What is Olivia up too - Update on her milestones

Happy New Year! Cheers to 2013
